Invisible Children

On April 25th, 2009... hundreds of thousands of young people and adults... people like you and me... will gather in over 140 cities in over 16 countries worldwide... and unite together to free the innocent from Joseph Kony's reign of terror and ensure that he is brought to justice... by being symbolically abducted... and waiting for the rescue.

What will you do to help the thousands who die everyday? What will you do to help the child abducted in his sleep and forced to kill his entire family and fight for a terrorist? What will you do to help? WHAT WILL YOU DO TO CHANGE THE WORLD? What will you do?

Sole to Soul

Children in Haiti are walking around with no shoes on... why can't we look past ourselves for one day... ONE DAY... and do the same? April 15th, 2009.

Look past yourself. For just one day.

Spring Formal!

Every year hundreds of decked out college students head to a grand night boldly entitled: Spring Formal. FYC puts this gala on, this year being held at Tenrock Ranch in Salado, Texas. With a dinner, dance, and dessert what could go wrong but a tablecloth catching on fire? That seemed to be the least of our worries as we danced the night away and had an absolute blast.

Our group who rode together, from left to right... Me, Spencer, Bryan... and our dates... Nicolette, Kelsey, and Megan. :)

Me and Nicolette, my date :). She's a freshmen too and she plays volleyball for the school. Like Pancho, she's from brownsville. Also in this pic you can tell we spent the entire morning and afternoon at the ballpark... and I should of wore a red tie instead of orange... :) So there's her bio for you mom... ;)

The boys, with the exception of Pancho who was off chasing girls... ;) Me, Corey (Roommate for next semester), Spencer (Also a roommate), and Joe. Not a roommate, but still a great guy and friend! :)
Our whole group again... without Corey and Jessica... :) Bryan, Megan, Spencer, Kelsey, Nicolette, Me, Meghan, Brooke (W/out date Joe) ;), Hannah, and Alex. All in all formal was a HUGE success, FYC was highly lauded, Spencer ended up with a girlfriend, and I got a cute date and a free milkshake at chilis. :) The End.

New Sadermail!!!

UMHB has finally moved up in the world of inter-collegiate email! After 3 years of the outdated, sluggish old sadermail, UMHB's tech department partnered with Google to build the new Sadermail. With 8 gigs of storage space (as compared to the minute 256mb they gave us with the last sadermail) I can now recieve all the pictures and sports updates I want! My email will still stay the same and i'm rearing and ready to go. Thanks UMHB, the new Sadermail rocks! :)
This was not an advertisement for Google, G-Mail, Sadermail, or UMHB for that matter. Paid for by the republican party of Bell County. ;)

It's Been Awhile...

So I haven't done this in FOREVER, I figured I would update ya'll with the happenings in Andy's world! :) New semester has started and is just about 1/2 way through, midterms are about a week away, spring break is a week and a half away, and i've got two months of school left! Since school started, i've served on several teams leading Disciple Nows across the state...

Gone dancing to celebrate the end of every week at a nearby club in killeen called Junction 45 where we can country dance our hearts away all night long... or until 2 am when they kick us out. :)

We've also roadtripped down to the great city of Brownsville where Pancho is from! We went to South Padre Island and hung out on the beach most of the day and then came back to bowl and hang out with his family and a few of his friends. The only drawback was the 8 hour drive down there... BUT YES!! They have Bush's Chicken there too!! :)

Our next great adventure took us to the great field of intramural sports where our fun loving team completely messed around every game, played in short shorts, goofy tank tops, tall socks, mismatched shoes, etc. AND the most we lost by was 8 points. :) We ended up losing every game but one.... but that was a win by forfeit. So it doesnt really count. :) At the end of the season after not making playoffs, we asked the intramural director if they would let us (the worst guys team) play the worst girls team (A team of soccer girls). They let us play and despite my best efforts, we won by one point in the final seconds. Needless to say the girls were mad. But we gave them trophies anyways... :)

Another one of our adventures took us to the scarred, scorched landscape of Abiline, Texas. And of course those bunch of people all living together that think they're a college, hardin-simmons univeristy. We wrecked shop in mens and womens basketball and then left quickly... (There was nothing else to do there...) :)

Last but never least, we had some friends come to the BEAUTIFUL city of Belton, Texas from that desolate wasteland that is Abiline and visit us! Allison and a few of her friends dropped by and had dinner with me, pancho, and spencer at the mall on their way to one of her friends houses. So of course we took a picture with the giant bear in the middle of the place! :)

So THAT is what's going on in the life of Andy Pipes. :) Spring break is fast approaching and we're planning a trip to New Braunfels and San Antonio! :) Hope to see all of you very very soon! :)
